Chateau Homes by RJM was established in 1996 by Dr. Ray Matherne.  Dr. Matherne, a local land developer since 1969 saw a demand for a quality, locally owned residential contractor and decided to form Chateau Homes by RJM.  Since it's inception, Chateau Homes has specialized in building one of a kind, custom and spec homes in St. Charles Parish and the surrounding areas.  Ron came on board in 1999, after graduating from Nichols State University and currently spearheads the day to day operation of the company.  The vast majority of Chateau Homes' employees and sub-contractors are locally based and have established professional reputations in this field.  We at Chateau Homes look forward to the oppurtunity to work with you customizing and buliding your future home.

	Ray Matherne had a vision of developing a private residential community utilizing south Louisiana's natural resources. The Bayou Gauche real estate developer already had developed eight subdivisions in St. Charles Parish during his 30 years in the business. Matherne, 56, has created Cypress Point, a 1,700 acre sportman's playground along U.S. 90 near the famed Spahr's Seafood Restaurant in Des Allemands.  About 75 Acres of the property will be developed into a gated residential community with 32 homesites.
